THIS IS BAILEY
Adam Bailey, but more commonly known as Bailey is a street photographer from a small rural town in Cornwall, England. Now based in Australia and predominately photographing on Bundjalung country.
Bailey is known for his vibrant saturated colours and complex frames. Layering and micro composition also form recognisable trademarks within his work.
"I can often feel a photograph before I can see it. My process begins at that first inkling of feeling and waiting for my brain to catch up".

Bailey studied Environmental Science at the University West of England (Bristol's UWE) between 2013 to 2016. This endeavour was unfulfilling and encouraged him to pursue something more creative and intuitive. During university terms Bailey would often make trips to Europe backpacking with small point and shoots and single lens reflex cameras (SLR) film cameras.
The photographs from these trips were often of friends, skaters, drunken antics, and classic tourist moments. These experiences sparked his fascination with photography and provoked the idea of documenting life on the street. This eventually led to the creation of small zines and, later, my first official project and book, 'The Private & The Property' in 2021.
Since the release of his first book Bailey has released a second book 'The Wonderful West Country' . He has exhibited work in both England and Australia and on the 16th of August has the image 'Louth Races' displayed in the Tweed Regional Gallery as part of a Australian portrait competition.
